JOB OBJECTIVE:  To develop, organize and supervise leisure and recreational activities, programs, and special events that promote wellness, social engagement, and quality of life for adults and senior citizens in Community Centers and East Little Rock Senior Center in the Department of Parks and Recreation.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of Associate’s degree in Recreation Administration, Recreation Management, Parks Administration, Leisure Sciences, Physical Education, or a related area; two (2) years of experience in planning, coordinating, and supervising recreational and leisure adult/senior activities and programming, or a related area; and one (1) year of supervisory experience.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:  
  • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, within six (6) months of employment, and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position.
