We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Controller to join our Maintenance Team here at Holman UK. This is a permanent opportunity, and we are looking to pay circa. £36,000 per annum.
Initially, you will need to travel into our Chippenham offices 5 days a week (approximately 4-6 months) as part of our training requirements. You will be eligible for hybrid working following this (3 days per week in the office, Tuesday to Thursday).
Key Responsibilities will include:
This role is responsible for ensure costs are managed effectively, vehicle availability is maximized, and customers are provided with exceptional service by our fleet vendors by:
Managing authorization requests promptly and efficiently, validating work is necessary and the correct pricing and labour times are applied.
Challenging vendors where appropriate
Ensuring highly accurate input of all appropriate information into Holman systems.
Controlling vehicle downtime effectively, conducting quality work progression activity and updating systems clearly and accurately.
Engaging with customers appropriately in relation to authorisation activities and determining the most cost-effective solutions.
Ensuring customers are updated appropriately on work progress
Escalate any concerns to the department Team Leader
Ad hoc tasks as required by the business
We are looking for candidates who have:
Technical vehicle related qualifications such as City & Guild or equivalent.
Demonstrable, detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably extending to include LCV, HGV and ancillary equipment fitted to vehicles
Qualifications or good knowledge around vehicle and equipment compliance requirements
Experience working within a similar role or within a workshop or comparable environment
Ability to manage difficult conversations effectively and hold conversations at a technical level
Experience of working within a pressurised environment, with the ability to remain calm, empathetic and professional in difficult situations
Comfortable working to targets and deadlines
Proven organisational and planning skills
Committed to finding solutions for clients, with ability to use initiative and common sense
Able to communicate effectively, build and maintain a rapport with people at all levels
