Description

The Global Supply Chain division serves as the strategic architect for the organization's end-to-end Solutions Design, driving enterprise-level excellence across both internal operations and external stakeholder networks. By focusing on multi-year planning, long-term architecture, and comprehensive capability development, the department systematically bridges technical engineering data with commercial needs, global systems, and international regulatory law. Every member of this global team is dedicated to permanently optimizing processes to increase quality and efficiency standards, ensuring a resilient, compliant, and highly optimized supply chain network.

We are seeking a Global Head to lead this critical function, stepping into a high-impact role where you will spend 60-80% of your time on strategic initiatives. This position is a dynamic combination of Process Architecture, Regulatory Governance, and Systems Translation, requiring an experienced matrix leader to act as the chief architect of process integrity. Operating on a global scale with high independent decision-making authority, you will manage a responsibility split of 40% Leadership, 40% Project Lead, and 20% Individual Contributor to confidently navigate highly ambiguous, cross-functional challenges and position the organization for future readiness.

The Opportunity

  • Driving organization-wide improvements in operational efficiencies, performance, and customer satisfaction is achieved through the optimized design and execution of the end-to-end supply chain.

  • Designing L0, L1, and L2 future-state processes establishes the global master standards and governance necessary for enterprise-wide implementation.

  • Enforcing strict compliance with global regulations, such as ISO and CFR820 guidelines, secures international operational alignment across the US, Europe, and China.

  • Serving as the primary bridge between Business Owners and technical teams ensures the smooth translation of architectural process designs into functional Warehouse Management Systems.

  • Leading large-scale digital and architectural projects enables the division to constructively challenge the status quo and foster entrepreneurial thinking across Hubs, Network Management, and Commercial teams.

  • Negotiating the delicate balance between cost efficiency and technical innovation allows you to resolve persistent friction among Manufacturing, Commercial, and Quality functions.

  • Presenting strategic alignments, portfolio health metrics, and business cases to the DIA Supply Chain Leadership Team and external industry associations like MedTech happens on a frequent basis.

Who You Are

  • An academic foundation consisting of a Bachelor's degree is required, though a Master's degree, Ph.D., or MBA in Life Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field is highly preferred.

  • A proven track record of 8+ years of matrix leadership experience within a highly regulated environment, such as the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or healthcare industry, is essential.

  • Deep corporate familiarity across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality & Regulatory environments enables you to easily interpret complex regulations into actionable corporate standards.

  • Demonstrated experience managing culturally diverse global teams and collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders at all levels of leadership is necessary.

  • Exceptional professional alignment with Roche Values, Creative Leadership, and VACC principles empowers you to effectively coach others through highly complex and dynamic environments.
