Associate Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines.

• Write SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and validation.

• Help monitor data workflows and troubleshoot issues.

• Support data quality checks and routine platform maintenance.

• Contribute to the development of APIs and data services.

• Document pipelines, datasets, and processes clearly.

• Work with engineers, data scientists, and other teams on day-to-day data needs.

Shift: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Location: Battaramulla (On-Site)

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 1–2 years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or a related area.

• Good Python programming skills.

• Solid SQL fundamentals and an understanding of relational database concepts.

• Basic understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and NoSQL concepts.

• Familiarity with a Python web framework such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

• Basic Linux command-line skills.

• Strong eagerness to learn and a collaborative attitude.

• Good communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to tools such as Airflow, Kafka, Spark, or Delta Lake (through projects, coursework, or work).

• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Exposure to Databricks or lakehouse concepts.

• Basic knowledge of Docker and Git.

• Web scraping experience (Selenium, Beautiful Soup).
