Description
Building & Zoning Administrator
The City of Richmond Heights is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Building & Zoning Administrator to lead the administration of building, zoning, permitting, inspection, and code enforcement activities.
The Administrator will oversee departmental operations, ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances, coordinate with residents, contractors, developers, and local officials, and provide leadership to department staff. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, permitting processes, and municipal operations, along with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications: Three to five years relevant experience in building, zoning, planning, code enforcement, or municipal administration is preferred. A related degree and applicable certifications may be required.
Education: Bachelor's degree with coursework in engineering or building technology, or related field and extensive experience in construction, regulatory enforcement and supervision, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements:
ICC Plan Reviewer and Commercial Building Inspector certifications
ICC Building Official certification within one year of hire.
Valid driver's license.
