Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive and commercially aware Logistics Controller to join our team and play a key role in managing and optimising our outsourced logistics operations.

Your impact

In this role, you will act as the key interface between the company and our external logistics service providers, ensuring that contracted services are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and at agreed cost. You will monitor performance against key performance indicators, resolve operational issues, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

What you will do as a Logistics Controller:

  • Provide an effective interface between the company and its outsourced logistics service providers.
  • Ensure that all services are provided, as detailed within the contract.
  • Monitor performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all company obligations within the contract are adhered to.
  • Represent the company at reviews and meetings with external parties.
  • Address any areas of operational concern (where required), ensuring that necessary issues / non-conformances are resolved to the company’s satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Provide operational support for logistics processes e.g. Material Master updates, specialist packaging requirements and actions relating to Quality Notifications.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on matters related to logistics
  • Support process reviews, systems development, pricing activities and tenders.
  • Reporting: Run / monitor existing reports and create new reports where required.
  • Financial: Verification and processing of invoices, progression of payment, allocation of costs, monitor contract spend.
  • Quality: Support audits and process checks, review documentation and communicate process change.
  • Work Instructions: Review and amend as appropriate. Obtain necessary approvals.
  • Co-ordinate burndown projects and data integrity activities.
  • Assist with special projects, including aircraft moves.
  • Support others within the team where appropriate. Maintain a basic understanding of other tasks completed within the team and be prepared to adapt at short notice.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in an Aerospace or Business-related subject or adequate relevant experience in a business-related environment.
  • Previous Contract Management, Project Management or Procurement experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to organise, plan, prioritise and control complex operations.
  • Financial awareness including preparation of budgets, analysis of variances and corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels internal and external to the company.
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft packages, which include Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Positive, proactive and flexible attitude.
  • Experience within a material supply or manufacturing environment.
  • Integrity and professional approach, with credibility at all levels.
