What you'll do...
Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing preventive maintenance to optimize system performance. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver quality service, supports operational needs across multiple locations, and adheres to company policies and standards. Effective communication with customers and adherence to regulatory requirements are essential to this position’s success.
About the team:
The Exterior Services team is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments through landscaping, grounds upkeep, exterior cleaning, and seasonal maintenance. They ensure all outdoor areas are safe, well-maintained, and visually appealing, meeting company standards. Collaborating with internal partners and external providers, the team emphasizes responsive service, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving. Their work supports operational excellence and sustainability, creating a welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The team prioritizes quality, safety, and consistent performance in all aspects of exterior facility care.
What you'll do:
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins to minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations, including refrigerant handling and documentation.
- Lead and mentor field teams, supporting technical training and safety practices.
- Manage service calls, coordinate with vendors, and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration.
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Capability to lead field teams and mentor less-experienced technicians on technical and safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills to explain technical issues and service outcomes to customers.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles safely.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
