What You Will Do:

  • The Quality Technical Inspector is responsible for performing real-time inspection of parts and processes on the production floor to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.  
  • This role serves as the first line of defense against defects, helping prevent escapes by identifying issues early and supporting operators in maintaining process control.
  • The Quality Technical Inspector will also support operations via inspection of production hardware and over-inspection.  
  • Perform in-process inspections at designated production intervals using approved inspection methods. Verify part conformance to blueprint, work instructions, and quality standards. Conduct dimensional checks using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators, etc.). Inspect surface finish, weld quality, coating, or other specific characteristics. Perform visual inspection for defects, damage, or nonconforming conditions 
  • Monitor production processes for signs of drift or instability. Verify operators are following approved procedures and OpCert requirements. Identify trends or recurring defects and escalate appropriately. Support containment activities when nonconformances are detected 
  • Record inspection results accurately in quality systems or inspection logs. Complete required documentation for acceptance, rejection, or rework. Maintain traceability of parts, materials, and inspection records. Ensure proper identification and segregation of nonconforming  product 
  • Provide real-time feedback to operators regarding quality issues. Clarify inspection requirements and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues. Participate in shift passdown to communicate quality concerns, Support variation corrective action activities by identifying operator process failures and training habit/routine formation.
  • Support audit readiness activities, Drive shop-wide accountability and compliance by completing random audits. Support product safety activities. Work with Quality to identify near miss trends and support corrective actions activities 
     

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
