Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Permanent Part-Time Lead Cook at Cheboygan County Jail in Cheboygan, MI.

🍳 WHAT WILL YOU DO?

As a Lead Cook, you'll help keep the kitchen running smoothly while assisting with meal preparation and overseeing inmates working in the kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving meals according to company recipes and standards
• Assisting with food preparation, baking, and cooking while overseeing inmates
• Leading and supporting kitchen operations during assigned shifts
• Training, instructing, and assisting team members as needed
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
• Following facility requirements and food safety procedures
• Helping ensure daily kitchen operations are completed efficiently

✅ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

To be successful in this position, you'll need:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environment
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guidelines
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Flexibility to work varying days and hours between 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Ability to obtain facility clearance and approval

Previous cooking or institutional kitchen experience is preferred, but it is not required - we can train motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow with our company!
