SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Jotun is accelerating its digital transformation journey, and data is becoming an increasingly important driver of business value, innovation, and decision-making. To strengthen our Data & Analytics capabilities, we are looking for a Solution Owner Snowflake who will take ownership of our global Snowflake platform and help ensure that it remains robust, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.

In this newly established role, you will act as the bridge between business needs, data initiatives, and technical capabilities. You will work closely with data owners, project managers, architects, platform specialists, and business stakeholders across Jotun's global organization to drive adoption, governance, and continuous platform improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technology, stakeholder collaboration, and strategic platform ownership while helping build the foundation for data-driven decision-making and future AI initiatives.

The position will have work location at our headquarters in Sandefjord, Norway.

As Solution Owner Snowflake, you will:

  • Own and govern the Snowflake platform, ensuring stability, scalability, and alignment with business requirements.

  • Define and drive the platform roadmap, including new functionality and continuous improvements.

  • Ensure consistent, efficient, and cost-conscious use of the platform across domains.

  • Support Jotun's transition towards a decentralized and product-oriented data approach while maintaining a trusted source of data.

  • Define and implement standards, architectural principles, and best practices together with architects and platform stakeholders.

  • Coordinate platform development activities with business stakeholders, data owners, project teams, and vendors.

  • Support and guide projects utilizing the platform and ensure successful adoption across the organization.

  • Facilitate onboarding, knowledge sharing, and user enablement activities.

  • Monitor platform usage and optimize costs in line with FinOps principles.

  • Ensure strong governance related to data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Collaborate with Snowflake and other external partners to evaluate opportunities and leverage new capabilities.

  • Enable increased data consumption, analytics capabilities, self-service solutions, and AI use cases

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

We believe you will succeed in this role if you have:

  • Experience within Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Platforms, Data Warehousing, or related fields.

  • A good understanding of modern data platform architectures and cloud-based technologies.

  • Experience collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to drive initiatives from idea to implementation.

  • Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouse platforms is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of SQL, data modelling, data integration, or cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is beneficial.

  • Higher education within IT, Data, Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable, but relevant experience may compensate.

  • Understanding of AI and machine learning use cases is considered a plus.

Personal requirements

  • Analytical – you enjoy understanding complex challenges and identifying practical solutions.

  • Collaborative – you build strong relationships and work effectively across teams, cultures, and disciplines.

  • Influential and proactive – you take initiative and drive progress without relying on formal authority.

  • Adaptable and resilient – you navigate change confidently while balancing governance and innovation.

  • Continuous learning opportunities and training activities through on-the-job training and our in-house learning Jotun Academy

  • Career development opportunities across multiple disciplines and geographies

  • Leaders who focus on engaging and enabling their team, proven by consistently high employee feedback scores
