We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Stroke/Neurology ward at Cabrini Malvern. In this role, you’ll work closely with our nursing staff to provide safe, respectful, and high-quality care to patients and their families during a critical time in their health journey.
About the Role
As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
This position requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays. Flexibility to cover a range of shifts will be highly regarded.
This is a fixed term maternity leave cover role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and support as directed by the registered nurse
Monitor and report changes in patient condition
Assist with maintaining a clean and comfortable patient environment
Respond to patient and family enquiries, escalating as appropriate
Uphold patient privacy, dignity, and cultural sensitivities
About You
You’re a team player with a passion for patient care and a strong sense of empathy.
You will also have:
A qualification in Health Services Assistance, Individual Support or equivalent; or
Current Nursing Student (Year 2 or above) with completed acute clinical placement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive situations
Previous experience in an acute hospital setting (highly regarded)
