Description
As Assistant Tax Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that CMC Markets’ complies with operational tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions including the United Kingdom (“UK”), Europe and the United States (“US”).
As the business continues to grow and diversify, the Assistant Tax Manager needs to ensure that operational tax compliance, policies and procedures, team skills and experience keep pace with this change. This role covers a broad range of tax compliance, control and reporting responsibilities that will require regular engagement by Group Tax with stakeholders across the business (including Operations).
Key responsibilities include:
Support daily operational tax activities, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant delivery across relevant global jurisdictions.
Support and improve operational tax processes and systems, identifying risks, efficiencies and opportunities for enhancement.
Define and implement operational tax requirements for projects, working with project teams and internal stakeholders from requirements through implementation.
Apply operational tax expertise across onboarding, transactions and systems, ensuring appropriate tax information, configurations and back-office accuracy.
Maintain operational tax documentation, reconciliations and controls to support accurate and consistent tax compliance and reporting.
Complete regulatory and client tax reporting, including US QI/QDD (1042-S/1099), FATCA, CRS, CARF, German FSAK, UK ISA, FTT and Stamp Duty.
Key skills and experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience within operational taxes and/or associated tax regulatory environment of an international financial institution.
Industry recognised accounting and/or tax qualification.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for presenting to varied audiences.
Excellent Excel skills and systems experience.
Project and change management experience.
Have the resilience, organisation skills, persuasiveness, and perceptiveness to thrive in a fast moving and challenging environment.
Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
A practical and commercial approach to problem solving.
