Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree in a related field and one (1) or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 2 (Hourly)

Position Description:

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics seeks a Research Assistant II with education and skills in R and Python programming, PCR, tissue culture, western blotting for proteins, confocal microscopy, and RNA-seq data analysis experience to assist with an ongoing NIH research project examining the impact of diet and environmental toxins exposures in liver injury models. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with Principal Investigator and team on efficient, ongoing operations and quality control equipment.
  • Support fellow lab members and collaborators in their research.
  • Keep detailed records and work proficiently with a database.
  • In collaboration with Principal Investigator establish new, and modify existing, standard operating procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Genomic Medicine or a related field.
  • Skills in R and Python programming, PCR, tissue culture, western blotting for proteins, confocal microscopy, and RNA-seq data analysis experience.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
