C2506 – Director of Maintenance
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt Employment Type: Full Time
Description: The Director of Maintenance will lead the development and execution of a centralized maintenance strategy across The Bama Companies' manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for modernizing Bama's maintenance organization, improving equipment reliability and uptime, reducing repair and maintenance (R&M) costs, and establishing consistent maintenance systems, standards, and accountability across all facilities.
This leader will bring a proactive, reliability-centered approach to maintenance-moving the organization from a primarily reactive model toward predictive and preventive maintenance, disciplined planning and scheduling, effective root-cause analysis, and data-driven asset management.
The Director will partner closely with Plant Managers, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain to ensure maintenance strategy directly supports Bama's operational, financial, quality, and customer-service objectives.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on change agent and strong people leader who can establish a common maintenance philosophy across multiple facilities while respecting the unique needs of each operation.
This position reports to: Vice President of Operations
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Operations, or related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated success reducing maintenance costs while improving equipment reliability and uptime.
- Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Experience implementing or significantly improving CMMS.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling, spare-parts management, and maintenance KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and establish standardized processes across multiple locations.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to connect maintenance decisions to business results.
- Experience working in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills/Education/Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing maintenance, reliability, engineering, or asset management.
- Significant leadership experience across multiple manufacturing facilities or a similarly complex operating environment.
- Strong leadership abilities with solid track record and relationships in the food industry, specifically food service preferred.
- Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, robotics, controls, or advanced manufacturing systems.
- Experience developing predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience leading centralized or shared-services maintenance organizations.
