This role manages complex manufacturing programs by integrating advanced industrial engineering principles with automated material handling systems. This role is responsible for the end to end lifecycle of plant operations, from optimizing spatial warehouse layouts to implementing robotic automation (AGVs/AMRs). The position serves as the technical lead for cross-functional project execution, ensuring that high-volume manufacturing environments meet stringent cost, delivery, and quality targets through data-driven lean methodologies.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTNA
- Warehouse Optimization & Strategic Space Utilization:
Lead warehouse standardization and optimization through data-driven analysis of part movement and storage patterns, including high- and low-runner classification. - Redesign layouts to maximize space utilization, reduce material handling movement, and align storage strategy with demand trends.
- Advanced Systems Design & Automation: Utilizing AutoCAD and Visio, designing high-efficiency warehouse architectures and racking systems. Lead the integration of automated technologies, including AGVs, AMRs, AS/RS, and conveyor systems to streamline facility operations.
- Process Simulation & Optimization: Enhance manufacturing throughput and reduce assembly downtime by conducting process flow simulations, such as Simio. Perform MTM (Methods-Time Measurement) and Yamazumi analysis to calculate precise manpower utilization and standard work instructions.
- ERP & Logistics Governance: Execute and validate complex packaging registrations within CC-SAP (Daimler ERP). Manage the PTSI system control cycles and monitor SISAM work order flows to ensure error-free material sequencing.
- Technical Program Leadership: Develop and maintain Tactical Implementation Plans (TIP) and project timelines. Lead logistics workstreams for new product launches, managing vendor design and tooling activities to ensure compliance with global packaging standards.
- Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Design and deploy custom Power BI dashboards to visualize warehouse space utilization and inventory KPIs. Redesign sequencing stations and customize lift-assist tooling and conveyors to minimize operator cycle time and improve ergonomic safety.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison between suppliers and customers to resolve critical packaging or flow bottlenecks. Present project milestones and ROI analysis to executive management.
- TOS-Driven Line Balancing & Manpower Optimization (DLC): Provide strategic support for TOS (Truck Operating System) initiatives by conducting detailed line balancing studies at DLC. Analyze workflow distribution, takt time alignment, and operator workload to ensure optimal manpower utilization and improved production efficiency.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business/Manufacturing Management with 4+ years of manufacturing relevant experience
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools (Simio, Vizio & AutoCAD).
- Expertise in specialized Daimler ERP environments (SAP, PTSI, SISAM).
- Deep knowledge of Lean Management (Kaizen, 5S, VSM, Kanban, Spaghetti Drawing, Yamazumi)
- Automated Material Handling (AMR/AGV).
- Advanced data visualization skills (Power BI).
- Project management experience is required.
- Requires strong analytical skills.
- Process Engineering skills required.
- Pack Assist skills required
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Supply chain experience and strong network within global TT organization & DTNA, Familiarity with TT tools and processes, strong understanding of DTNA/ DDC/TT organization operational structure and supplier ecosystem
- Project management experience and strong analytical skills, experience working in a matrixed global organization with cross-functional teams
- Detailed knowledge of supplier landscape (regional and global) for Detroit Diesel Corporation and the Global Truck technology group, supply chain principles/processes and manufacturing processes & practices
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and detailed oriented work environment
- Ability to be a great team player with multiple stakeholders within and across different business units.
- Excellent track record in communicating verbally and in writing at all levels, both internally and with suppliers.
