Your Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the development of precision instruments and systems used in color measurement and management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and refine mechanical components and assemblies that meet rigorous performance and quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies in CAD/PDM software
- Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs in accordance with engineering standards
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs
- Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and DFM/DFA activities
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of new designs
- Design custom automated calibration and assembly hardware
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product lifecycle management
What You Need:
- Qualified mechanical engineer (Konstrukteur EFZ, Eid. Dip MASCHINENINGENIEUR HF, Techniker HF, Dipl. Konstruktionstechniker, Bachelor of Science Maschinenbau, MASTER OF SCIENCE MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in related field
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software
- Experience in the development of mechatronic systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment
- Very good written and spoken German and English
Nice to Have:
- Background in materials science or experience selecting materials for mechanical applications
- CREO or SolidWorks experience
- Familiar with industrial design UX/UI
- Experience with precision instrumentation or optical systems
- Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change processes
