Your opportunity  

As Head Chef, you’ll lead the café and village catering operations, ensuring food quality, service consistency and efficient kitchen management. You’ll play a key role in shaping menus, leading a small team, and delivering an experience where meals are more than food — they are moments of connection for residents and guests. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys ownership, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is motivated by delivering consistent, high‑quality outcomes.

With integrity and resilience, you will:  

• Lead kitchen operations across café and village catering services
• Manage ordering, stock control and supplier relationships
• Plan menus and develop weekly specials aligned to resident preferences
• Supervise and support one casual chef
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and service standards
• Monitor costs, minimise waste and manage kitchen budgets
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance (HACCP & WHS)
• Contribute to a positive, team‑focused hospitality culture

What you’ll bring 
You’re a capable and people‑focused Head Chef who combines strong kitchen leadership with a genuine commitment to service. You know how to balance quality, cost and efficiency while creating a welcoming environment for both residents and team members.

What’s required: 

• Experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership role
• Strong skills in stock control, ordering, and cost management
• Experience planning menus and delivering consistent food offerings
• Confidence leading and developing small teams
• Sound knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety and compliance
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and Thursday nights
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

What’s preferred: 

• Experience in aged care, retirement living or café environments
• An understanding of service environments where customer experience is key
• A passion for creating food experiences that bring people together
