Location - Atlanta, GA / New York, NY / US Remote (East Coast Preferred)

Remote role aligned to US East Coast hours, with an optional Atlanta office. Approximately 30% domestic travel to customer sites across the US is required.

Compensation

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll join a fast-growing AI-native business unit operating with a startup-like environment inside a well-funded global technology company.

You'll work directly with major US retail customers, serving as both a production engineer and technical customer partner while building integrations, data pipelines, and AI-driven solutions that directly impact customer outcomes.

This is an opportunity to combine software engineering, data engineering, AI, customer-facing technical work, and product thinking while owning solutions end-to-end in complex enterprise environments.

What You'll Do

• Write production code daily to build and deploy customer-specific integrations and solutions
• Spend approximately 70% of your time building production software and data infrastructure
• Build data pipelines supporting major retail and grocery customers
• Develop AI-driven solutions for enterprise retail planning workflows
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for 2–3 enterprise retail customers
• Work directly with stakeholders ranging from VP-level executives to store and operational teams
• Gather customer requirements and translate business problems into technical solutions
• Workshop solutions directly with customers and rapidly prototype potential approaches
• Build and deploy prototypes before integrating successful solutions into production products
• Own customer-specific integrations with ERP systems and other enterprise platforms
• Build reliable systems that operate within live customer environments
• Own KPI delivery, solution performance, and SLAs for customer deployments
• Monitor production systems and proactively identify performance or reliability issues
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows
• Work across engineering, AI, product, and design teams to deliver customer outcomes
• Translate customer feedback into product and engineering improvements
• Identify recurring customer requirements that can be converted into scalable platform capabilities

Experience Requirements

• 3–8 years of professional software engineering or customer-facing engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience building and deploying production software
• Direct customer-facing engineering experience required
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers or technical stakeholders
• Experience building production data pipelines
• Experience owning technical solutions end-to-end
• Experience working in startup, high-growth, consulting, or highly autonomous engineering environments
• Experience translating customer requirements into production software
• Experience managing multiple customers, projects, or technical workstreams simultaneously
