As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human-centred appliance brand.

Ready to shape the future of our builder market in New Zealand?

This is an opportunity for a commercially astute, relationship-led general manager to influence the growth and performance of Fisher & Paykel’s New Zealand builder channel.

As General Manager – Builder NZ Market, you will help set the commercial direction for this important customer segment, building strong relationships with key builders, developers and industry partners while creating an outstanding experience for customers.

This is a highly visible commercial leadership opportunity, combining strategic planning, customer and partner engagement, and hands-on execution. You will work closely with colleagues across sales, marketing, product and operations to identify opportunities, strengthen partnerships and deliver sustainable growth.

Based in Auckland, you will play a key role in strengthening the position of one of New Zealand’s most recognised and trusted brands in the building sector.

Where you'll make your mark

You will lead the development and execution of the New Zealand builder-market strategy, identifying opportunities to build market share, deepen customer relationships and create profitable, sustainable growth. Your focus will be on understanding the needs of builders and developers, anticipating market shifts and ensuring our products and service proposition create lasting value.

Working across the business, you will translate commercial opportunities into clear plans and outcomes. You will bring disciplined account and pipeline management, strong commercial judgement and an ability to work through complexity to achieve results.

You will also foster a customer-first, collaborative performance culture, building capability and ensuring teams and partners are aligned around shared priorities and an exceptional end-to-end experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Shape and execute the strategy for Fisher & Paykel’s New Zealand builder market, driving sustainable growth and strong commercial performance.
  • Develop enduring relationships with builders, developers and strategic partners, strengthening engagement and identifying opportunities.
  • Collaborate across sales, product, marketing and operations to deliver a compelling market proposition, effective execution and outstanding customer outcomes.

Who are you?

You are an experienced commercial leader with a strong track record of building customer relationships, developing markets and delivering results. You bring an understanding of complex business-to-business sales environments and the ability to connect commercial strategy with practical execution.

You are confident engaging senior customers and industry partners, comfortable negotiating and influencing, and able to use market intelligence and commercial insight to make sound decisions. Experience in the building, construction, property or related sectors would be valuable.

Above all, you are a collaborative leader who develops people, takes ownership and brings the curiosity and ambition to create better outcomes for customers and the business.

What we offer

We offer the opportunity to join a large, complex global organisation that is proudly headquartered in New Zealand; giving you broad exposure across an internationally operating business without leaving home.

Alongside a competitive salary and a hybrid working environment, you'll have access to real development pathways and meaningful progression opportunities. As part of our team, you'll also enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life and disability insurance, subsidised medical cover, access to our industry-leading Whānau/Family leave policy, a subsidised on-site café, and complimentary parking when you're in the office.

All of this, supported by exceptional leadership and the credibility of a world-class heritage brand — one that continues to be recognised as one of New Zealand's most Trusted Brands, year after year.
