Responsibilities
The hospice volunteer plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care delivered to patients and families. Volunteers may provide direct patient/family care, bereavement support, or administrative assistance, supporting the hospice agency's goal of quality patient/family care. Assignments are matched to the volunteer's experience, training, and interests, and all work is performed under the supervision of an agency employee.
Qualifications
Education
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred
Work Experience
- Less than 6 months of relevant experience Required and
- Completion of Volunteer Training Program Required
- Mature, non-judgmental, caring, people-oriented individual supportive of the home health concept of care Required
