Position: Staff Product Manager – Finance Technology
Job Location: 811 Excellence Dr, Bentonville, AR 72716
Duties: Lead product development for enterprise financial forecasting platforms that generate machine-learning-based forecasts for multiple business metrics, including net sales, merchandise sales, operational units, and fulfilled orders across base channels, merch channels, and marketplace channels. Translate complex and varying requirements from Finance, Merchandising, and Operations stakeholders into scalable product specifications, accounting for differences in how each function consumes forecasts (e.g., base-channel views for Finance and merch-channel views for Merchandising). Manage forecasting outputs across multiple dimensions, including metric, channel, and department/category hierarchies, ensuring consistency and reconciliation across 60+ departments and 2000+ categories used for business planning. Partner with data science teams to define requirements for machine-learning models, including input signals (e.g., historical performance, operational drivers), forecast outputs, validation frameworks, and feedback loops to improve accuracy and adoption. Design and maintain channel mapping logic across multiple channel hierarchies (e.g., base channels, merch channels, and demand channels), ensuring accurate aggregation, disaggregation, and alignment of forecasts across Finance and Merchandising use cases. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Finance leaders, Merchandising department heads, category planners, Data Science, and Engineering teams to align forecasting outputs with planning cycles, operational workflows, and business decision-making processes. Develop business cases and quantitative frameworks to evaluate forecast accuracy, financial impact, and return on investment, including defining KPIs and monitoring variance between forecasted and actual performance across segment, SBU, and department levels to support financial planning and performance management. Drive the transition from manual, Excel-based forecasting and reporting processes to automated, governed forecasting systems, improving scalability, auditability, and consistency across enterprise financial and operational planning.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field plus 1 year of experience in product management or related experience. OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of experience in product management or related experience.
Skills Required: Must have experience with: Product development for data-driven financial and operational decision-support systems, including defining product strategy and translating business needs into scalable product solutions; Requirements gathering and translation of complex business needs from Finance, Merchandising, and Operations stakeholders into detailed product specifications, user workflows, and analytical outputs; Collaborating with data science and machine learning teams to define model inputs, outputs, feature engineering requirements, evaluation metrics, and validation frameworks; Applying forecasting concepts and analytical decision-support systems to support financial planning, performance tracking, and business decision-making; Cross-functional stakeholder management across finance, operations, merchandising, engineering, and analytics teams; Data analysis and interpretation using structured datasets to identify trends, validate outputs, and support product and business decisions; Business case development, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and performance measurement using defined KPIs; Prioritization of product features and roadmap planning based on business value, feasibility, and impact; Designing and managing outputs across multiple dimensions (e.g., metric, channel hierarchies, and business structures) to ensure consistency and reconciliation across use cases; Defining, monitoring, and analyzing performance metrics, including variance between forecasted and actual outcomes across segment, SBU, and department levels; Supporting experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and model performance evaluation; data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate analytical insights; documenting product requirements, analytical logic, workflows, and data definitions. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
