Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant, Main OR, Baptist Beaches

Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Certified Surgical First Assist to support our Surgical Services Team in the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. This is a Full-Time days position. 

As a Surgical First Assist for the OR, your responsibilities include:

• Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
• These tasks include but are not limited to:
• Preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon preference
• Patient positioning
• Provide visualizatoin of operative site
• Utilizes techniques to provide hemostasis
• Assist with body plan closure
• Advanced skills as competency tested
• Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing
• Assists in turnover of operating room

Experience Requirements:

• Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

• Associate's degree required or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist Certification (CSTFA) required.
