About the Role
As a Principal test development engineer, you will contribute to the development of test systems for Harman products, including test rack commissioning for release, test rack operation for projects, test rack maintenance in technical and financial. Explore new test technologies/method based on local trend of market, especially for readiness for new technologies before test running of customer projects. Besides the test rack, you will also responsible for all test fixture and test harness to ensure the validation test can be performed compliance to ISO17025 requirements.
This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, operating within a global and cross-functional environment, requiring strong coordination and influence across teams.
What You Will Do
- Test rack strategy in Test Vision System, modular simulation/design and build of test rack, test rack and re-usable modules digitization.
- Test rack manufacturing by internal/external resource, test rack SW development/deployment for all products, test rack commissioning and releasing.
- Work on operation of test rack in all phase of test running for success of customer projects execution.
- Keep all test rack in ready status for potential projects in physical, maintenance asset information according to upgrade plan.
- Manage all development activities to ensure the test fixture and test harness are ready on time.
- Cooperation with internal or external suppliers to manage the full life cycle of test instrumentation.
- Continuously partner with engineers in TTR global on HW/SW/Smart tools development to ensure that test requirements are met in different projects and products, fit for future.
What You Need to Be Successful
- 10+ years’ experience in designing and developing customized (non-standard) automated test systems within Automotive.
- Proficient in automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet, with hands-on experience in development, debugging, and analysis.
- Solid understanding and practical experience in automotive digital audio technologies, such as SPDIF and A2B. Familiarity with broadcast and positioning systems, including AM, FM, DAB, and GNSS (e.g., GPS).
- Proficient in NI test platforms, including LabVIEW, TestStand, and VeriStand, with experience in test system development and integration. Experience with additional programming languages such as Python or C# is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in automotive ECU test, validation, and debugging.
- Strong project communication skills and good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience working in ISO 17025 accredited laboratory to manage the full life cycle validation instrumentation
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience in database design and development (e.g., SQL-based systems).
- Experience in hardware electronic circuit design, analysis, and debugging.
- Experience in machine vision system development and image processing.
- Familiarity with or practical application of AI-assisted software development techniques.
