Ko tōu ake mahi - What you’ll do
This Senior Analyst role is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the performance of New Zealand's health system. You'll lead high-impact analytical work that provides insight into the performance of the health system and Crown entities, transforming complex data into clear, decision-ready advice for senior leaders and Ministers. Beyond delivering analysis, you'll help shape the tools and approaches that underpin effective monitoring, while strengthening analytical capability and driving continuous improvement.
Lead end-to-end analytical work programmes, from scoping through to delivery of insights and advice
Extract and analyse data (using tools like R, SQL, Snowflake, Qlik and Power BI) to generate clear, actionable insights
Support and guide other analysts, sharing expertise and lifting team capability
Identify opportunities to improve monitoring approaches, tools, and framworks across the system

Advanced analytical experience, including working with complex datasets and modern data tools
Strong track record of influencing decisions through high-quality insights and advice
Ability to lead workstreams and provide guidance to others
Strategic thinking, sound judgement, and confidence operating in ambiguous environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including with senior leaders
