Position Summary

The Cluster organizations in Roche Pharma India are crucial engines for delivering our medicines to patients across different geographies. Given that health is a state subject in India, our cluster teams work closely with governments, Healthcare Organizations (HCOs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and critical stakeholders to ensure the Roche portfolio is available and accessible to eligible patients.

As a key leader of a pivotal 'invest for growth' market, the Head of Customer Engagement is directly accountable for driving India Pharma toward a CHF500+ million business within three years. This ambition carries a massive impact for our global enterprise. 

Reporting directly to the GM, India, you will provide strategic leadership to 150+ people across clusters in India, empowering Cluster Heads to drive exceptional patient impact and long-term goals as a critical member of the India Enabling Team (IET).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership across all Clusters (15+ states, 150+ people) and drive delivery of the India strategy.

• Lead robust commercialization and portfolio delivery to patients and customers across priority Disease Areas. Ensure all HCP & HCO engagements comply with UCPMP 2024, applicable laws, and Roche Code of Conduct. Partner closely with the Medical team while maintaining their independent purview over scientific and medical decisions.

• Set rigorous performance benchmarks and KPIs aligned with compliance principles. Implement standardized processes to deliver consistent, high-impact engagement across clusters and drive commercial execution excellence. Build best-in-class commercial acumen and capabilities.

• Provide strategic leadership to Enabling Cluster Heads, fostering a high-performing environment where best practices are shared and silos are broken.

• Partner with Disease Area Strategy Heads and enabling functions to translate strategy into clear, impactful initiatives executed by cluster teams.

• Collaborate with CEETRIS stakeholders (country CE heads and DCLs) to pull solutions through the network and contribute at the network level as a critical leader from an Invest for Growth market.

• Represent Roche India at senior external platforms in compliance with external and internal frameworks. Route all government engagement formally through Access or Corporate Affairs.

• As a core IET member, help shape affiliate strategy, optimize resources, and drive collective success with an enterprise mindset.

Experience & Capabilities Needed

We seek a visionary leader with significant enterprise impact, capable of leading within India and as part of senior Roche leadership groups.

• Exceptional Commercial Leadership: Proven ability to drive impactful portfolio delivery and high patient impact. Create external impact and drive partnerships with C-level hospital stakeholders and state/central governments.  

• Visionary Leadership: Deep passion for patient success. Proven experience building and leading high-performance teams, developing commercial acumen, prioritizing effectively, inspiring teams toward ambitious goals, and cultivating collaborative, inclusive, and accountable cultures.

• Collaboration & Strategic Challenge: Deep knowledge of India's healthcare landscape is a plus. Adept at uniting cross-functional teams and constructively challenging decisions to advance portfolio goals.

• People Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and influence teams with clear purpose, foster cross-cluster collaboration, and drive consistent, high-quality results with confidence in Roche products.

• Enterprise Mindset: Systems thinker skilled in strategic resource trade-offs to optimize cross-portfolio outcomes and balance challenges with support.

• Technical Expertise: Must Have: Extensive commercialization experience in pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Led large P&L operations and held multiple senior leadership roles overseeing business and teams.
