Description
JOB SUMMARY
Klamath Community College (KCC) is seeking a part-time Welding Fabrication Assistant to support hands-on projects for Kingsley Field. This position is ideal for someone with strong welding skills who enjoys fabrication work and contributing to real-world training applications. This is a part-time position of no more than 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Fabricate and assemble components based on verbal or written instructions
- Perform MIG, TIG, or stick welding, depending on project needs
- Use shop tools and machinery safely and effectively
- Collaborate with KCC faculty to ensure project goals are met
- Follow all safety and security protocols
- Maintain organized workspaces and proper tool handling procedures
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties as assigned.
- If assigned, this position may require administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred:
- Prior experience with fabrication or mechanical assembly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to fulfill responsibilities and tasks consistently.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to follow instructions and work independently.
- Demonstrated welding skills (e.g., MIG, TIG, or stick welding).
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequently lifts and carries items up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently bends, stoops, and kneels.
- Prolonged standing and sitting.

This position is classified as part-time and is typically scheduled for up to 20 hours per week. Regularly scheduled hours may be subject to change. Hours may not exceed 128 hours per one-month pay period. Not eligible for paid holidays, vacation or healthcare benefits beyond those required by law.
This position is classified as temporary and is intended to meet short-term operational needs. Employment in this role does not carry an expectation of ongoing or regular employment.
