Role Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading the organization's logistics operations, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods across the supply chain. This role oversees transportation, warehousing, inventory movement, and logistics planning while driving operational excellence, service performance, and continuous process improvement. The position also leads the logistics team and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics providers to support business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics operations, including 2 years in a people management or supervisory role.
- Proven experience within the FMCG industry is required.
- Strong background in transportation, warehouse operations, distribution planning, and inventory movement.
- Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight partners, and logistics vendors.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices, logistics KPIs, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Proficient in ERP, WMS, or other logistics management systems, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-efficient distribution of products to customers, branches, and distribution centers.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve operational efficiency, service levels, and overall supply chain performance.
- Manage transportation, warehousing, dispatch, and delivery activities while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor logistics KPIs, identify operational gaps, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead, coach, and develop the logistics team by setting performance expectations, conducting regular performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight carriers, and other external partners to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Planning, and Warehouse teams to align logistics activities with business and customer requirements.
- Oversee logistics budgets, transportation costs, and resource utilization, identifying opportunities for operational and cost improvements.
- Ensure inventory movements, deliveries, and documentation are accurate and completed in accordance with company policies and service level agreements.
- Drive initiatives related to process standardization, risk mitigation, safety, and operational excellence across logistics operations.
