Description

 Réalta Technologies is seeking an Automation Engineer with 3-5+ years' experience to join our team supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Dublin.
This role will focus on maintaining, improving and expanding existing automation systems across a live GMP manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial control systems, ideally Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Studio 5000, along with a strong understanding of GMP-regulated manufacturing and excellent communication skills.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for existing automation and control systems across manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, modify and optimise PLC software using Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Studio 5000 to support production requirements.
  • Investigate automation-related issues, perform root cause analysis and implement robust corrective actions to minimise downtime.
  • Support equipment upgrades, lifecycle management activities and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Validation teams to deliver automation solutions safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in commissioning, testing and qualification activities for system modifications and equipment enhancements.
  • Ensure automation systems remain compliant with GMP standards and site procedures.
  • Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, including functional specifications, software changes, testing documentation and change control records.
Job Requirements
  • 3-5+ years' experience as an Automation Engineer within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, including programming, troubleshooting and system modifications using Studio 5000.
  • Good understanding of GMP manufacturing environments and automation lifecycle practices.
  • Familiarity with GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11 and change control processes.
  • Strong fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a live production environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering and operations teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while supporting ongoing manufacturing activities.
  • Previous experience supporting packaging, filling or process manufacturing equipment would be considered an advantage.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to production and maintenance personnel where required.
