Job Summary and Responsibilities
As your orthopedic surgery advanced practitionerr in Silverdale, WA you will be joining a collegial team comprised of supportive, board certified providers.
Everyday, you will assist in the surgical suite including first assist, deep and superficial wound closure, application of internal devices and any other procedures delegated by the supervising orthopedic surgeon.
To be successful in this role you will
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative care in clinics
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests in clinics
- Formulate a treatment plan for orthopedic conditions within their scope of practice
- Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals
- Order, collect and perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as routine laboratory tests, EMG, electrocardiogram and radiologic examinations including arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI and bone scan studies
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspirations and injections of joints, bursars and cysts.
- Apply braces, casts, splints and other orthopedic appliances
- Conduct hospital rounds, writes orders, takes call and sees patients in the ED for the orthopedic surgeon if needed
Average schedule is Monday-Friday consisting of OR (surgery) with some clinic/hospital work, with the opportunity for scheduling flexibilty. Candidates should be available for occasional weekend cases if needed.
Job Requirements
Required Experience:
- At least one-year experience required as an ARNP or Physician Assistant- Surgical experience as an APP is preferred- Washington State license in good standing- Board certified - DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
