Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Unarmed Retail Security Officer to provide daytime security coverage at a busy grocery store in Glenwood Springs. This position is responsible for promoting a safe, welcoming atmosphere for customers, employees, and vendors while helping reduce safety risks and supporting daily store operations.

The ideal candidate is approachable, observant, and comfortable working in a customer-focused environment where professionalism and sound judgment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Security Operations

• Conduct regular walking patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, parking lot, and surrounding exterior areas.
• Maintain a consistent and professional security presence to discourage theft, vandalism, and disruptive behavior.
• Monitor activity throughout the store and identify unusual or suspicious situations.
• Perform routine inspections to identify safety hazards or maintenance concerns.

Customer & Store Support

• Help provide a secure shopping experience for customers and employees.
• Greet visitors professionally while remaining attentive to security needs.
• Assist store personnel with security-related concerns when requested.
• Communicate respectfully with customers while enforcing store policies.
• Help maintain orderly conditions in high-traffic areas throughout the facility.

Incident Response

• Respond appropriately to disturbances, emergencies, or suspicious activity.
• Notify supervisors and store management of incidents requiring additional attention.
• Follow established emergency procedures and site-specific post orders.
• Coordinate with emergency responders when necessary.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare complete and accurate daily activity reports.
• Document incidents, policy violations, safety concerns, and unusual events.
• Maintain timely communication with supervisors regarding operational updates.
• Ensure reports are accurate, organized, and submitted before the end of each shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail security, customer service, hospitality, or asset protection.
• Experience conducting foot patrols and preparing incident reports.
• Familiarity with grocery stores, retail operations, or customer-facing environments.
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
