What You'll Do... As a Commercial Sales Representative at American Pest, you'll build your own pipeline, develop new business relationships, and help commercial customers solve problems that matter to their operations. This is a true business development role where success comes from identifying opportunities, opening doors, earning the trust of decision-makers, and turning conversations into long-term partnerships. You'll prospect within your territory, network with local businesses, and continually grow your book of business while also responding to qualified opportunities generated through our marketing efforts.
As a trusted advisor, you'll become an expert in American Pest's services, programs, and pricing so you can confidently assess each customer's needs and recommend solutions that make sense for their business. You'll manage the sales process from the initial conversation through closing the sale, conducting consultative needs assessments, preparing proposals, maintaining your pipeline in our CRM (Hubspot), and building lasting relationships that drive repeat business and referrals. Throughout it all, you'll deliver the level of professionalism and customer service that has made American Pest a trusted name for more than 100 years.
Who You Are... So, what does it take to be successful as a Commercial Sales Rep at American Pest? For starters, you'll have an inner drive to make the sale and make the customer happy! You'll also have...
- A bachelor's degree in a business-related field -or- at least one year in a sales/sales support role -or- one year of account-based customer management
- A minimum of one year working with a web-based customer database or CRM (Hubspot is preferred)
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to effectively manage your time, prioritizing multiple tasks and maximizing performance while remaining customer-focused
- The ability to understand customers' needs, handle objections, and close business
- The ability to learn and retain complex pest control industry knowledge (i.e. general pest information, treatment methods, service protocols, etc.) through company-provided training in the following platforms - online, field, and classroom
- A strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English - fluency in additional languages is also appreciated
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
