JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Research Assistant/Technician will provide critical support to the Design, Acquisition and Neuromodulation Laboratories (DANL) within the Center for Biomedical Imaging and Neuromodulation (C-BIN) at the Nathan Kline Institute in Orangeburg, NY. This role involves active participation in our neuroimaging research programs, spanning MRI, EEG, TMS, and Multimodal Mobil Brain and Body Imaging (MoBI) protocols. The successful candidate will gain exposure to interdisciplinary research groups and contribute to our mission through a broad range of technical approaches and interventional methods.
JOB DUTIES:
• Provide technical support for interdisciplinary research groups in neuroimaging and neuromodulatory approaches
• Administer neuroimaging (EEG, MRI), physiological (heart rate, electrodermal, respiration), and neuromodulatory (TMS/tDCS/tACS) approaches
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Seize opportunities for career development and potential for publication
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Linux environment.
• Curiosity, a desire to learn, and an ambition to gain more responsibility and independence as skills develop.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in one or more of the following areas: EEG, Physiology (heart rate, respiration, electrodermal activity), Eyetracking/Pupillometry, MRI, TMS, Neuronavigation, Network administration, System administration.
