Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of an Interim Operational Training and Compliance Officer, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £250.11 - £315.07 per day

Summary:

We're looking for an experienced Operational Training & Compliance Officer to develop and deliver operational training and competency programmes across Waste Services and the wider operational workforce. You'll play a key role in improving compliance, workforce capability, health & safety standards, and operational performance through structured training, assessments, and coaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver operational training and competency programmes.
  • Conduct driver assessments, inductions, and refresher training.
  • Deliver training on manual handling, vehicle safety, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
  • Maintain training matrices, competency records, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor tachograph compliance and provide coaching to reduce infringements.

Essentials:

  • Experience delivering operational or driver training within fleet, waste, highways, local authority, or similar environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing training programmes and competency frameworks.
  • Practical experience conducting driver and operational competency assessments.
  • Good knowledge of DVSA guidance, operator licence compliance, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (LGV entitlement desirable).
