Description
Our New York office is looking for an experienced data management professional to lead our North America Client Data Management team, reporting to the Head of Client Data Strategy. This role is responsible for managing Neuberger’s client data platform and ensuring our client, transaction and asset datasets are reliable, governed, and readily accessible so that they can be leveraged as strategic assets.
Client data is a critical enabler for our Client Coverage teams to provide an exceptional experience for our existing and future clients and allows our analytics team to create unique insights into client relationships. Additionally, client data is a critical driver of our Marketing, Finance and Compensation Technology platforms.
This role leads the execution of a multi-year client data roadmap for North America, including data architecture, governance, operations, acquisition, quality, and reporting.
A critical success factor will be building trusted partnerships with other functions across the organization, including Client Coverage, Analytics, CRM, Operations, Technology, and Finance teams.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with Client Coverage, Business Analytics, CRM, Finance, and Operations teams to understand their business needs, gather requirements, and liaise within the firm to define and prioritize the components of client data platform
- Lead a team of data management professionals, coaching and motivating while providing clear accountabilities and objectives that align to Neuberger’s client data strategy
- Lead the design of client data platform architecture, including the integration of multiple data sources to provide a comprehensive 360 view into Neuberger’s clients, supporting enterprise growth strategy
- Evaluate new data sources, ingest, consolidate and deliver those data sources into the client data platform in an efficient manner that ultimately adds business value downstream
- Own the maintenance and updates for Neuberger’s client data hierarchy to support existing and future business needs
- Work closely with multiple business areas to understand the data attributes of Neuberger’s products and how they interrelate to transaction and asset datasets
- Establish and enhance operational procedures and data governance frameworks to improve the quality and accessibility of client data for business areas that rely on high quality client data to drive their business
- Collaborate with and work in close partnership with the broader Client Data Strategy and Technology teams to ensure BAU activities and projects are executed efficiently and deliver to stated business outcomes
- Manage vendor relationships with key data vendors, ensuring that both the breadth and quality of data received meets Neuberger’s business needs
- Provide thought leadership through the proper implementation of processes and tools that align with Neuberger’s strategic objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field of study
- 10+ years’ progressive industry experience in asset management data
- Experience leading and motivating teams of data professionals
- Solid understanding of various investment vehicles such as Mutual Funds, ETFs, UCITS, QIFs, SMAs and Alternatives
- Ability to understand and shape client data needs and how those needs relate to broader strategy
- Strong analytical and data modeling skills: Proficiency in SQL, Alteryx and Tableau or comparable tools; experience with Python and R would be helpful
- Ability to decompose complex data problems into manageable components that can be understood by different audiences – technical and business - at various levels within the firm
- Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to explain technical issues to non-technical business teams
- Team player with strong work ethic and focus on meeting deadlines & objectives
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate critical thinking
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Location: New York City; hybrid with a minimum of three days per week in office.

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$200,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
