The Clinical Evaluator - Youth Services conducts comprehensive screenings, assessments, and evaluations for individuals seeking behavioral health services. This role develops treatment recommendations, establishes provisional diagnoses, coordinates referrals, supports crisis intervention efforts, and assists individuals and families in connecting with appropriate resources. The Clinical Evaluator also collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, maintains timely clinical documentation, and promotes community awareness of mental health services through education and outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities: 

· Conduct comprehensive screenings, assessments, and evaluations to determine service eligibility and appropriate levels of care 
· Develop treatment recommendations, establish provisional diagnoses, and create individualized follow-up plans for clients and families 
· Coordinate referrals and connect individuals with internal programs and community-based resources to support positive outcomes 
· Provide crisis intervention services, safety planning, and emergency response coordination as needed 
· Deliver brief therapeutic interventions and support clients throughout the evaluation process 
· Educate community members and stakeholders through presentations and outreach activities that promote mental health awareness 
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve departmental goals and support continuity of care 
· Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and required data collection activities 
· Participate in peer reviews, staff meetings, professional development activities, and quality improvement initiatives 
· Ensure compliance with professional ethics, organizational policies, regulatory standards, and clinical documentation requirements 
· Support management initiatives including program evaluation, grant-related activities, and other assigned projects 

 

 

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: 

· Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field required 
· Current state licensure required based on work location and area of practice 
· Unrestricted licensure for location and area of practice required 
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse populations 
· Ability to apply sound clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and logical reasoning in professional situations 
· Basic mathematical skills and proficiency with clinical documentation requirements 

 

 

Additional Qualifications: 

· Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required 
· Successful completion of background screening, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks required 
· Ability to stay knowledgeable regarding organizational programs, admission criteria, referral processes, and available community resources 
· Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, families, and community partners 
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining documentation timelines 

 

 

Physical Requirements 

· Perform sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently 
· Sit for extended periods throughout the workday with occasional walking and standing 
· Utilize repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements for typing, writing, and documentation activities 
· Lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move light objects as required to perform job duties
