What you’ll be doing

We are seeking an economist to join Lloyds Banking Group’s Group Economics team.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high impact through economic analysis and the monitoring of the macroeconomic environment. This is an ideal role for economists seeking responsibility within a senior economics team and who wish to contribute to the development of Lloyds Banking Group’s UK and Global macroeconomic outlook.

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

You’ll be:

  • Producing detailed analysis on economic developments that matter for Lloyds Banking Group.

  • Contributing to the production of our economic outlook and helping to communicate its implications across the Group.

  • Working towards developing and owning macroeconomic models and forecasts.

Why join us?

From building a truly sustainable business to creating a place where people love to work, we’re looking for colleagues who are up for the challenge, who love to push boundaries and can make change happen. Sound like you?

What we’re looking for?

We’re looking for an economist with experience in monitoring the macroeconomic environment and using impactful analysis to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. You’ll help maintain and build on the team’s existing suite of models, tools and publications alongside conducting your own economic analysis and assisting more experienced economists.

You’ll have:

  • a strong interest in economic events and their impact on Lloyds Banking Group.

  • experience in producing economic analysis, tailoring findings to different audiences.

  • strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • a desire to learn and develop as an economist.

We would expect you to have at least an undergraduate degree in economics or a related field, alongside 1-3 years of experience working as a professional economist, or a similar role. Experience in using a global macroeconomic model and/or monitoring a major global economy would be beneficial.
