APAC Assembly & Packout Procurement Specialist

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Specialist in Global Assembly, Packout Procurement, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Your major responsibilities would be to:

• Provide category leadership across 3M businesses and divisions for Outsourced Assembly and Packout, acting as a strategic procurement lead.
• Drive procurement policies and best practices to support cost savings, business growth, working capital goals, and effective NPI launches.
• Lead supplier selection, manage strategic supplier relationships, and support negotiations while driving should-cost modelling and cost reduction initiatives.
• Identify and implement solutions for complex procurement challenges, including dual sourcing, category strategy, supplier management, and process improvements.
• Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders such as Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations, while developing category risk reduction strategies.
• Own contract negotiations with strategic suppliers in collaboration with division stakeholders and Legal, including agreements for complex supply arrangements such as SMI, consignment, and formula-based pricing.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed and verified prior to the start date.
• Overall, 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years of combined experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
• Experience in Procurement, particularly with Assembly and Packout suppliers, including contract manufacturers and co-packers.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, self-driven approach with project management experience.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects, while engaging stakeholders across all organizational levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with financial acumen and the ability to perform business analytics.
