About the Role
Job Description: Quality Engineer II
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in software testing.
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in manual testing practices and basic exposure to automation frameworks. You will work closely with development, product, and design teams to ensure high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities
Create, review, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans for web and mobile applications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and system testing.
Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, clarify doubts, and ensure proper test coverage.
Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger.
Validate UI/UX consistency and application behavior across devices/platforms.
Perform database validation using basic SQL queries.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimations.
Provide concise and clear test reports for stakeholders.
Work with the automation team to identify test cases for automation and contribute to simple automation scripts (nice to have).
Must-Have Skills
3–5 years of experience in Manual Testing.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Defect Lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with test case design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, etc.).
Exposure to automation tools such as Playwright, TestNG, Pytest, or similar (basic scripting only).
Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or similar programming languages.
Knowledge of API testing (Postman, REST Assured) is a mandate.
Familiarity with TDD, unit testing, and QA lifecycle processes.
Good-to-Have Skills
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Knowledge of version-control tools like Git.
Experience in testing cloud-based applications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Mobile application testing experience (Android/iOS).
Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM).
Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter) is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
1. Test Case Coverage
Percentage of requirements covered by test cases (Target: ≥95%).
2.Defect Detection Rate
Number of defects identified during testing vs. production defects (Target: High detection before release).
3.Test Execution Efficiency
Number of test cases executed per day/week within planned timelines.
4.Defect Leakage
Percentage of defects found after release (Target: ≤2%).
5.Timeliness of Deliverables
Meeting deadlines for test planning, execution, and reporting.
6.Quality of Test Artifacts
Accuracy and completeness of test cases, test reports, and documentation.
7.Collaboration s Communication
Effective interaction with developers, product owners, and QA team members.
8.Adherence to Processes
Compliance with QA standards, checklists, and best practices.
9.Customer/Stakeholder Feedback
Positive feedback on quality and reliability of deliverables.
10.Continuous Improvement
Contribution to process improvements, knowledge sharing, and team initiatives.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
