Job Description

As a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This role offers the chance to support students, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and communication while working for a company known for being agile, reliable, innovative, and grounded in teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observed conditions to the appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, noting unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
• Help to monitor access to campus facilities, check identification and/or visitor credentials when required, and communicate site expectations in a professional manner.
• Support campus operations by documenting incidents, completing required reports, and sharing information with supervisors, staff, and/or first responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
