Responsibilities

Ready To Own Cross-Stream Delivery at the Level Where You Fix Problems Before They Reach the Project Owner?

 

Why This Role Matters

Most EPMs execute the process. At this level, you improve it. You’re running multiple concurrent initiatives, resolving stream conflicts yourself, and building the automation and visibility tools that make every initiative run cleaner -not just yours. When senior leadership needs a difficult update on timeline or scope risk, you’re the one in the room delivering it.

 

What You'll Actually Do

Manage critical paths across concurrent initiatives: Track and reprioritize across multiple streams as tradeoffs emerge - including ambiguous and undocumented dependencies that aren’t in any ticket yet.

Resolve cross-stream conflict directly: Drive alignment when streams disagree on approach, scope, or sequencing - negotiating resourcing and tradeoffs before anything needs Project Owner escalation.

Run steering updates with senior leadership: Deliver difficult conversations about timeline and scope risk clearly and confidently, with the context and credibility to back it up.

Challenge technical decisions when they don’t hold up: Apply enough domain and tech-stack fluency to push back on sequencing or architecture choices - and make the case stick with engineers and architects who don’t report to you.

Build cross-stream automation and visibility: Create dependency-status rollups, risk-register alerts, and workflow tooling usable across initiatives - not just one-off fixes for your current project.

Factor AI-assisted velocity into planning: Use AI to scale coordination across initiatives, automate dependency and risk flagging, and incorporate AI-driven engineering velocity changes into cross-initiative critical-path planning.

Mentor EPM I/IIs and influence Stream Leadership: Develop less senior EPMs and shape how Stream Leads and Architects work - without direct authority over either group.

 

Qualifications

What You Bring to Our Team

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience
• 6–9 years of experience in technical program or project management, with demonstrated ownership of multiple concurrent cross-team initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to resolve cross-team conflict and negotiate resourcing tradeoffs without escalating every disagreement
• Mentorship experience or demonstrated informal influence over peers without direct management authority
• Working knowledge of security and privacy fundamentals - including OWASP Top 10 concepts - as they relate to initiative scope
• Experience in health tech, benefits administration, or wellbeing SaaS including PHI-adjacent data handling is a plus
• PMP, PgMP, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or equivalent advanced certification is a plus

Technical Skills

• Deep, hands-on Jira and Confluence automation experience - cross-project rules and webhook-based triggers
• Strong understanding of SDLC practices including CI/CD, environments, testing, and release management and how they interact with cross-team delivery
• Experience building Jira automation at scale across multiple projects is a plus
• Experience factoring AI-assisted engineering velocity into cross-team timeline and capacity planning
