What you'll do 💻
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll be fully engaged in product development: bringing relevant features to customers, improving production code, and collaborating across functions to create next-generation CX products.
More specifically, you’ll work in the Conversational Intelligence (CI) team. Our CI product analyses customer interactions and provides automated, easy-to-use insights that help address knowledge gaps and inefficiencies and unlock opportunities across the entire organisation. To do that, our product relies on seamlessly pulling new and updated data from other systems, and a key part of this role is right there: taking ownership of some of our integrations and APIs, not only maintaining them but also modernising and improving how they are built.
You won’t be tackling challenges alone. We put a strong emphasis on collaboration and on creating an environment that supports your personal and professional growth. We expect you to be proactive, curious and a team player, and to contribute to our workplace atmosphere in your own unique way.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain scalable backend services powering our AI products
Develop and maintain integrations and APIs
Collaborate across teams to deliver performant and reliable features
Participate in system architecture discussions, contributing to design decisions and technical direction
Help improve our ways of working and explore new technologies that enhance performance, scalability and developer experience
The must haves 💪
5+ years of software development experience
Experience building and maintaining integrations, APIs, distributed systems or data-heavy applications
Proficiency in C# and TypeScript
Fluent English, since clear communication is key in our international organisation
Outspoken and comfortable challenging ideas and contributing to open, honest discussions within product teams and across functions
Product-minded, proactive and playing to win
The nice to haves ➕➕➕
Experience with technologies such as MongoDB, RabbitMQ
Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or similar
Experience with Agile methodologies and the Product Operating Model
Experience building secure, GDPR-compliant systems for sensitive data

Diversity & Inclusion 🌍
We want everyone at Puzzel to feel able to be their true, authentic self at work – regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical ability, age or economic background.
We're proud of our diverse, global workforce, but there's more to do. Our current gender split is 25% female to 75% male – in line with the SaaS average, but not where we want to be. Here's how we're improving it:
· Our C-suite has moved from 100% male in 2023 to a 5:3 male-to-female split today.
· Female hires grew from 23.6% in 2021 to 41% in 2024, dipping to 34% in 2025 — a trend we watch closely, but never treating as a tick-box exercise.
· We partner with Flexa, to compound our aspiration to attract a diverse talent pool.
· We work with state employment initiatives in Norway and Sweden on internship and apprenticeship routes, to help early-years talent into the workforce.
One Last Thing👆
Even if you're only a 75% match for this role, we still want to hear from you — this list is indicative, and skills can always be learnt.
We're unable to offer sponsorship for this role, so you'll need existing eligibility to work in the country you're applying to.
