About Children of America (COA)

Children of America is a nationally accredited preschool with 65+ locations across 18 states, and we're growing! We're seeking passionate, experienced Lead Teachers who are ready to make a lasting impact on children's lives while helping them learn, explore, and thrive.

At COA, you'll do more than teach. You'll create meaningful learning experiences, build strong relationships with families, and help children develop the skills and confidence they need for lifelong success. You'll join a collaborative team that values your expertise, supports your professional development, and encourages you to grow your career.

Our programs serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before & After Care, and Summer Camp. We believe our people are our greatest strength, and we encourage every team member to bring their whole selves to work.

Why Join Children of America?

  • Competitive Pay: Earn $18.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.

  • Save on Childcare: Enjoy a 50% employee childcare discount.

  • Career Advancement: Grow into future leadership opportunities within COA.

  • Educational Support: Access educational assistance and T.E.A.C.H. scholarship partnerships.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and disability insurance.

What You'll Do as a Lead Teacher

As a Lead Teacher, you'll take an active role in planning and delivering engaging educational experiences, guiding classroom activities, and creating a positive environment where every child can thrive.

  • Lead Classroom Instruction: Implement COA's Mind and Body Matters curriculum through engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.

  • Plan Meaningful Activities: Carry out daily lesson plans that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

  • Create a Safe Learning Environment: Maintain a welcoming, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom.

  • Build Family Partnerships: Communicate professionally with parents and caregivers about children's needs, experiences, and progress.

  • Support Individual Growth: Observe children's development and use classroom technology to document progress and support learning goals.

  • Guide Behavior Positively: Establish consistent routines and age-appropriate expectations while responding to children's emotions with patience and empathy.

  • Collaborate With Your Team: Work closely with fellow educators and management to maintain continuity of care and high-quality educational programming.

  • Continue Growing Professionally: Participate in training, embrace feedback, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • At least one year of experience in a licensed childcare setting.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, as required by applicable regulations.

  • Ability to meet all applicable state licensing and qualification requirements.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Flexibility, creativity, patience, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to children's success.
