Job Description:
COMPANY STATEMENT:
Goldflower is destined to be the next BIG name in cannabis. We are a collection of industry experts from around the globe who are led with passion, creativity, and hard work.
We strive to be active corporate citizens, community members, and celebrate diversity and inclusion as a company. Our CANNABIS has meaning; it’s an art form, and we’ve mastered our craft. We are looking for someone to grow with us!
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Vice President of Manufacturing is accountable for building and leading Goldflower's manufacturing organization across Bradenton and Mt. Dora, including flower post-production, pre-roll production, extraction, infused-product manufacturing, vape and concentrate production, packaging and finished-goods execution.
Reporting to the COO and leading through the Directors of Manufacturing at each campus, the VP of Manufacturing is responsible for safely and reliably producing the right products, in the right quantities, at the required quality and cost to support Goldflower's increasing store count. Near-term priorities include aligning manufacturing capacity and output with approved production, revenue and growth goals while strengthening production planning across a growing, high-mix portfolio.
The VP of Manufacturing will begin by developing a deep understanding of Goldflower’s existing manufacturing organization, processes, and operating systems. Through observation and partnership with leadership, this individual will assess the existing manufacturing program and build from that foundation as the business continues to scale.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacturing Leadership and Execution
- Provide executive leadership across flower post-production, pre-rolls, extraction, infused products, vapes and concentrates, packaging and other finished-goods activities.
- Lead, coach and hold accountable the Directors of Manufacturing at Bradenton and Mt. Dora while maintaining clear campus-level decision rights.
- Build one cohesive manufacturing organization with common expectations, operating discipline and shared learning, while preserving appropriate differences among flower, infused-product and extraction operations.
- Own execution against approved production and supply plans, including output, timing, product mix, specifications, quality and store-service requirements.
- Remove systemic constraints and ensure routine operating issues are resolved at the appropriate leadership level.
Production Planning and Retail Service
- Translate demand, product priorities and store requirements into executable SKU-level production plans, labor plans and capacity requirements.
- Partner with Product Development, Operations and enterprise leadership to inform new-product and commercialization decisions through a manufacturing lens, including manufacturability, scalability, capacity and cost implications.
- Drive schedule attainment and finished-goods availability, with shared accountability for on-time, in-full replenishment and in-stock performance across an increasing store count.
- Balance batch sizing, product mix, changeovers, packaging capacity, inventory freshness and material availability to produce the right units, not simply more units.
- Provide timely visibility to production capacity, capabilities, constraints, shortages, risks and tradeoffs through the company's planning process.
Operational and Financial Performance
- Establish a consistent operating cadence and executive scorecard across both campuses, including output, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, conversion cost, yield, waste, rework, downtime, quality and inventory accuracy.
- Own manufacturing conversion costs and drive measurable improvements in labor productivity, yield, equipment utilization, waste and overall product economics.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement and Planning to maintain accurate standards, understand variances and improve material and production economics.
- Develop manufacturing budgets, forecasts and capital plans; build business cases and measure approved investments against expected results.
Quality, Compliance, Safety and Data Integrity
- Partner with independent QA and Compliance leadership to ensure manufacturing meets regulatory, product and quality requirements.
- Create a culture in which safety, product quality and compliant execution are core manufacturing responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence to approved SOPs, effective process controls, root-cause investigation and sustained corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate work orders, batch and lot traceability, material consumption, yield reporting, inventory reconciliation, waste controls and production records across ERP and state-required systems.
- Protect product quality, consistency and the intended consumer experience as products move from development to scale.
Capacity, Reliability and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain an enterprise view of capacity, utilization, constraints and future needs across both campuses.
- Provide manufacturing assumptions, capacity visibility and operational expertise into the company’s integrated planning and long-range capacity processes.
- Prioritize improvements in process, equipment, automation, preventative maintenance and technology based on their impact on safety, capacity, labor, quality, reliability and return on investment.
- Define manufacturing requirements for expansion projects, new equipment and facility improvements, and own operational readiness and ramp-up after approval.
- Ensure packaging materials, critical components and equipment capabilities support production plans and new-product launches.
Organization and Enterprise Leadership
- Build a high-performing manufacturing leadership team capable of operating with increasing independence, discipline and accountability.
- Establish clear roles, decision rights and escalation expectations throughout Manufacturing, and evolve the organization as scale and complexity increase.
- Develop succession plans and leaders who use data, solve problems at the source and own results.
- Serve as the executive manufacturing voice in company decision-making, clearly communicating performance, constraints, risks, investment needs and opportunities.
- Partner effectively with the COO, Operations, Cultivation, QA/Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Product Development, Systems, Distribution and Retail leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including significant responsibility for multi-site, multi-process or high-mix operations.
- Demonstrated success leading senior managers or directors in a regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience scaling consumer-products manufacturing while maintaining service, quality, safety and cost performance.
- Working knowledge of production planning, extraction, filling, packaging, automation, quality systems, maintenance and manufacturing cost management.
- Experience launching new manufacturing capabilities and moving products from development through sustained commercial production.
- Strong command of labor planning, yield improvement, capacity modeling, capital justification and continuous improvement.
- Experience with ERP/MRP and regulated inventory or traceability systems; cannabis-industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience; advanced degree or operational certification preferred.
Leadership Profile:
The successful candidate is an enterprise-minded manufacturing leader who combines strategic judgment with operational credibility. This leader develops strong directors, creates clarity without unnecessary bureaucracy, uses data to drive decisions, protects product quality and safety, and holds the organization accountable for sustainable results.
BENEFITS:
- Growth opportunities
- Performance-based incentives
- Employee discounts
- Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off
- Health/Dental/Vision insurances
- Health Savings Plans and Teladoc Health
Work location: in-person
