Description
Role Overview
The Electrical Engineer Level 3 will contribute to the design, development, and testing of
advanced electronic hardware used across aerospace programs. This hands-on
engineering role is ideal for a mid‐career professional with strong experience in circuit
design, prototype development, and hardware integration in rugged environments.
The selected candidate will collaborate with senior engineers, support architectural decisions,
and take ownership of complex PCB assemblies from concept through lab validation.
This engineer will apply practical, real-world design expertise to create reliable digital,
analog, and power electronics capable of operating under demanding environmental
conditions common to aerospace platforms.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Circuit Design and Schematic Capture: Develop detailed electrical schematics for high-speed digital circuits, analog interfaces, and power supply designs using advanced CAD tools.
• Prototype Board Bring-Up: Perform hands-on assembly support, hardware modification, and initial power-up of prototype circuit boards using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and related lab equipment.
• Ruggedized Hardware Development: Contribute to the design of resilient computing and power electronics that withstand extreme temperatures, shock, vibration, and electromagnetic interference.
• Component Selection and Analysis: Evaluate components, perform derating assessments, and support signal integrity and worst-case circuit analysis to ensure reliability in aerospace environments.
• PCB Layout Collaboration: Work closely with PCB layout specialists to define routing requirements, layer stack-up considerations, impedance constraints, and grounding strategies.
• Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex hardware issues at the component or subsystem level and support corrective design actions.
• Documentation and Review Support: Generate engineering documentation including design specifications, test procedures, and drawings. Participate in technical design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Education
Academic Credentials
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred but not required.
Years of Experience
• 7–10 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, ideally within the
aerospace or defense industry.
• Demonstrated background designing and testing printed circuit board assemblies
and complex electronic systems.
