The Process Kit Engineer plays a critical role in supporting high-volumne manufacturing readiness and sustained production by managing process kits and coordinating equipment calibration activities. This role partners closely with Equipment Engineers, Bench Technicians, calibration teams, and suppliers to ensure kits, parts, and calibrations are available, compliant, and aligned with production needs.
Responsibilities:
- Own lifecycle management of process kits, including tracking, staging, kitting, refurbishment, and disposition of Kits and Maintenance Parts.
- Coordinate kit readiness to support preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, and tool recovery activities.
- Maintain accurate kit records, locations, key metrics, and status in Micron tracking systems.
- Partner with Equipment Engineers and Bench teams to identify kit improvements, shortages, and standardization opportunities.
- Collect and report key operational metrics to support HVM readiness, compliance, and continuous improvement. KPIs include kit readiness and turnaround time, calibration on‑time completion, overdue or out‑of‑tolerance calibration tracking, data accuracy, and audit‑related findings tied to process kits or calibration activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
- More than 2 years’ experience as an Engineer with mechanical aptitude. Experience as a process kit engineer strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills using drive projects and program improving Fab Operational Support.
- Outstanding ability to coordinate across multiple teams and projects
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional continuous-improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or a minimum of 6 years of equivalent engineering experience.
- Experience in developing and maintaining semiconductor fabrication support areas.
- Proven ability to partner with various departments to deploy standards and remove execution barriers.
- Knowledge of AI and its application to improve speed of execution, or experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
