NOW HIRING – EXPERIENCED ITALIAN COOK
Location: Caledon East, Ontario
We are looking for a highly skilled, reliable, and experienced Italian Cook to join our restaurant kitchen team.
A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL ITALIAN COOKING EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY.
Job Responsibilities & Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working in a professional Italian restaurant kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine and traditional cooking techniques.
- Extensive experience preparing fresh pasta, homemade sauces, risotto, pizza, seafood, meat dishes, soups, salads, and appetizers.
- Ability to independently handle all kitchen stations, including grill, sauté, pasta, fryer, and food preparation.
- Excellent knife skills, food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes, maintain consistent food quality, and ensure proper portion control.
- Experience with food inventory, stock rotation, ordering, and minimizing food waste.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, cleaning, and proper food storage.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.
- Must maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked kitchen.
- Must be reliable, punctual, hardworking, and a strong team player.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Certifications & Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario-recognized Food Handler Certificate – REQUIRED.
- Minimum 5 years of professional Italian cooking experience – REQUIRED.
- Culinary Arts Diploma or equivalent culinary training—Preferred.
- Red Seal Cook Certification—An asset.
- WHMIS training—An asset.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario food safety and health regulations.
