Description

Petra Funds Group is a single source provider for the fund administration and fund infrastructure needs of Private Equity and Debt Funds. At Petra, we enable fund managers to focus on the tasks that add the most value to their businesses and leave the rest to us.

Petra is made up of highly experienced professionals across the US and Europe. In a business where accuracy and timeliness are paramount, having a deep bench who have spent years working inside of asset managers is what truly differentiates us.

Our foundation is built on trust, experience, and uncompromising accuracy. Our people are experts. We work collaboratively. We are relentless in our process and put attention to detail first.

What You Will Do:

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Operations Manager to join their Credit Team. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in credit investment operations and will be responsible for supporting the operational aspects of our credit investment strategies particularly around investment servicing and data integrity. This role requires a strong understanding of credit products, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams. Experience in loan administration and ensuring data integrity is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the reconciliation of credit portfolio positions, cash, and P&L, resolving breaks and escalating exceptions to finance and investment teams.
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for borrowers, lenders, and agent parties, managing daily activity including wires, trade settlement, and funding mechanics.
  • Partner with investment teams from term sheet through closing on complex transactions, including bank debt, equity/options, and FX, advising on funding mechanics and operational requirements.
  • Review and approve funds flows for accuracy and completeness prior to release.
  • Ensure timely, accurate booking and reporting that aligns with legal agreements, and maintain portfolio records in line with internal and external guidelines.
  • Lead month-end deliverables in coordination with finance teams and external administrators, owning timelines and issue resolution.
  • Contribute operational input to weekly pipeline discussions with the credit investment team, valuation, compliance, finance, and tax.
  • Prepare and review regular and ad-hoc reporting for portfolio managers and senior management, ensuring data integrity across systems.
  • Support audits and regulatory reporting, serving as the subject matter expert on portfolio and transaction records.
  • Identify and lead process improvements that reduce risk and increase efficiency, addressing disparate data sources and siloed workflows.
  • Partner with technology teams to define requirements, enhance system capabilities, and automate manual processes, then monitor and refine results.
  • Uphold compliance standards and risk management protocols, proactively flagging control gaps.
  • Act as an escalation point for the team on complex or time-sensitive issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in loan operations, investment accounting, fund administration or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of credit products, including bonds, loans, and derivatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex workflows or portfolios with limited supervision.
  • Experience reviewing and overseeing work performed by junior team members or offshore resources.
  • Experience with Geneva, WSO, Allvue, iLevel and/or Power BI a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to credit investments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets, reconciliations, and financial templates.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extremely organized and process oriented.

Salary Range:

At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $122,000 - $183,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
