Material Handler

JOB TITLE:            Material Handler

 

DEPARTMENT:   Shipping, Finished Goods

 

REPORTS TO:       Team Lead / Manager – Shipping, Finished Goods

                                                                                          

 

                             

 

MAJOR FUNCTION

• The Material Handler's primary job function is to supply the internal and external customer with machines and secure packaging for on time shipments. Activities include pulling machines, scanning with handheld scanners, processing shipments, labeling machines, banding pallets and loading freight. 
• Help maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Keep Department clean and organized.

• Other duties as assigned by Team Lead/Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:   

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Six months’ related experience and/or training.     

 

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:         

• Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and customer instructions.
• Good computer skills a plus.
• Must be able to work unexpected overtime, as well as scheduled overtime.
• Ability to use handheld barcode scanners and to transfer in ERP system
• Prior forklift experience preferred, required to pass Nilfisk re-certification.
• Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
• Must lift, push or pull up to 75+ pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods at a time.

• Candidate must demonstrate problem solving skills.
• Must have good math skills and be detailed oriented.
• Ability to keep records of activities performed.

·         HAZMAT certification a plus.

·         Must be able to maintain good attendance standing.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Ability to use MS Office applications.

SAP experience a plus

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

      Forklift license.

Pay Range $21.11-$26.37 per hour.

The estimated range indicates the expected hourly pay for this position. It does not include potential bonus incentives such annual or performance bonus’ as well as sales and sales related incentives, or overtime. The actual pay offered may vary based on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, unique skills, education level, certifications or licenses, differentials, and the location from which they will work. The final pay determination will comply with state or local minimum wage laws applicable to the job's location. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
