We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team in Canton, MS. Our team is a hands-on engineering group that works closely with production and other cross-functional teams to solve problems, improve processes, and support the day-to-day manufacturing of vehicles. We operate in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement are critical to success. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical engineering experience while contributing to projects that directly impact manufacturing operations.
A Day in the Life:
- Assist with investigating production concerns, analyzing data, identifying root causes, and implementing countermeasures using structured problem-solving methods.
- Support projects focused on improving manufacturing and engineering processes, efficiency, and performance.
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead a defined summer improvement project, including planning, implementation, results tracking, and final presentation preparation.
- Monitor and evaluate process performance while identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
Who We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Students entering their Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- Initiative and willingness to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for solving problems and optimizing processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Participation in engineering societies, technical organizations, or STEM-related activities such as NSBE, SME, SWE, ASME, IEEE, or similar organizations is a plus.
- GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
- Ability to perform work onsite at Canton, MS.
