Regional Sales Director – South-Central Territory
Preferred Location: Tyler or Longview, TX, or Shreveport/Bossier City, LA
Territory: Texas & Louisiana | Regular Travel Required
North Star Wireless is looking for an experienced, people-focused District Manager to lead our South-Central territory across six retail locations in Texas and Louisiana.
This role is responsible for developing strong store leaders, driving sales performance, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring each location provides an excellent customer and employee experience. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the field, understands retail sales, and knows how to balance accountability with coaching and development.
Territory
The District Manager will support six locations in multiple cities: Austin, TX; Tyler, TX; Amite, LA; Bastrop, LA;
Rayville, LA
Because of the geography of the territory, the ideal candidate will live in Tyler or Longview, Texas, or the Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana area and be comfortable traveling regularly between locations.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers across the assigned territory.
- Drive sales performance and help stores consistently achieve company and Verizon goals.
- Review store and individual performance metrics, identify opportunities, and work with managers to develop clear action plans.
- Spend regular time in stores observing operations, coaching leaders and team members, and reinforcing sales and customer-service expectations.
- Build strong Store Managers who can effectively lead their own teams and hold employees accountable for performance.
- Ensure stores are appropriately staffed and work with managers and Human Resources to address recruiting and retention needs.
- Monitor scheduling and staffing to ensure stores meet business and Verizon coverage requirements.
- Support new-hire onboarding, training, and ongoing employee development.
- Hold Store Managers accountable for completing regular employee coaching and performance conversations.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, merchandising standards, cash-handling requirements, and operational expectations are consistently followed.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, attendance, and other people-related matters.
- Identify trends across the territory and proactively address performance or operational concerns.
- Communicate company priorities clearly and ensure Store Managers understand both expectations and the reasons behind them.
- Recognize strong performance and help create a culture where employees feel supported, challenged, and accountable.
- Travel regularly throughout the territory and maintain a consistent presence in each assigned store.
What We're Looking For
- Previous multi-unit retail leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Wireless, telecommunications, or commission-based retail experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to coach leaders and improve sales performance.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, staffing, customer service, and performance management.
- Comfortable using sales data and performance metrics to identify opportunities and drive results.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear expectations and constructive feedback.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Texas and Louisiana.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
The Right Person for This Role
You'll likely be successful in this position if you enjoy developing people as much as you enjoy hitting a sales goal. You understand that strong results come from strong Store Managers, clear expectations, consistent follow-up, and being present enough in the stores to understand what's actually happening.
We're looking for someone who can celebrate wins, address problems quickly, and help managers become stronger leaders—not someone who simply reviews numbers from a distance.
